I work as an independent freelance consultant doing the following kinds of jobs:

Consulting
Research
Software development
Systems architecture and design
System administration and integration
Talks and training
Project management

Generally, my field of activity are Internet applications and services and their integration using databases and automated processes into scalable, reliable and secure systems on the basis of Linux and open standards. One particular focus is email services. Another web page tells you more about the focus of my work.

I am available for short consulting jobs or presentations as well as for multi-month projects. In most cases my work will be billed per hour but we can also agree on a fixed price. I'd be glad to work out a quote for your project.

Depending on the circumstances and needs of your project I work from my home office or on-site everywhere in Germany (or beyond). Of course I'll document my work and, where needed, will train the staff of my clients.

Where it is possible and makes sense I prefer the operating system Linux and Open Source software because it is inexpensive and (because of the access to the source code) very flexible and easy to integrate.
